Trust & Safety
How Better Me Bariatrics protects every client
The Better Me Bariatrics difference
Most medical tourism coordination companies operate behind a curtain. They will not tell you who runs the business, who performs the surgery, where it happens, or what happens if something goes wrong.
Better Me Bariatrics was built to be the opposite of that. Transparency is not a marketing angle for us. It is the foundation of every relationship we build with clients and partners. This page lays out exactly who we are, who we work with, and how we protect the people who trust us with their care.
Who runs Better Me Bariatrics
Better Me Bariatrics was founded by Cindy Felix, a two-time bariatric surgery patient who lived through both the gaps and the wins of the medical tourism experience. Every coordination protocol used by the company was built from that firsthand knowledge.
Cindy is not a clinician. She is a coordinator who has walked every step of the client journey.

Scope of practice
Better Me Bariatrics is a coordination company. We are not a clinical provider. Our team does not diagnose, prescribe, treat, or render medical judgment. All clinical decisions are made by the surgical team in Tijuana and by any US-based clinical providers you continue to work with.
If you have a clinical question at any point, we route it directly to the surgeon or the appropriate US-based provider. Our role is to remove every logistical, communication, and operational obstacle between you and the care you have decided to receive.

Our partner relationships
Every Better Me Bariatrics client is referred to a US-based registered dietitian or clinical provider for long-term post-operative care. This is a non-negotiable part of our coordination model.
Our partner network includes bariatric dietitians, obesity medicine physicians, mental health therapists with bariatric experience, and personal trainers who work with post-bariatric clients.
Patient information is shared with the referring provider only under written client consent, using a structured handoff document that covers surgery type, current eating phase, vitamin protocol, lab values, and any complications.
